One goal in Confirmation is to have YOU (student) live out your faith in Jesus Christ. We have designed the following accountability forms for you to use weekly and hand in to your Color Leader each Sunday. You also have one record form for you and your parents to keep track of your totals of what you have turned in so you know if you are meeting your requirements for Confirmation. The Living Him Out sheets are divided into four parts - Knowing Jesus, Growing Like Jesus, Serving Like Jesus, and Sharing Jesus. In each box is an example of what we are looking for in your life.
Knowing Jesus: “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord” Jeremiah 29:12-14. In this section we are asking what are you learning when you are spending time with Jesus? Included in this section, we would like for you to learn scripture as well as important items we have given you in your “Memory Work” packet. We want you using your Bible daily in your quiet time and in organized Bible studies.
Growing Like Jesus: “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52. In this section we are asking you to share with us how you are growing in the likeness of Jesus with other believers. What are you learning in Confirmation classes and in Worship Services.
Serving Like Jesus: “Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Matthew 20:26-28 In this section we are asking you to share with us how you are serving others either in an organized group and mission project or something you do individually.
Sharing Jesus: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19,20. In this section we are asking you to share with us who and how you are sharing Jesus with others. You could be evangelizing to someone at your school, on your soccer team, etc… If you aren’t comfortable with sharing your testimony with someone yet, you could be inviting them to church, Bible Study or a Missions Project.
Accountability forms are handed out each Sunday at the church. In case you don't get one, you can download the student form here and the parent form here.
